Here's something for Hot Club fans -- an acoustic jazz quartet inspired by the sounds of Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappeli in pre-WWII Paris. Lead guitarist Daryl Jones comes out of a bluegrass tradition and is a champion contest flatpicker with jazz guitar influences. Bob Foster takes after eclectic country and pop guitar innovator Chet Atkins. Violinist Carolyn Dutton brings classical training and decades of experience in orchestra and classical music ensembles, and upright bassist Hunt Wiley pulls from violin and piano training as well as the jazz in his DNA. Together, they create a sound that's recognizably Hot Club and yet all their own. (Bio adapted from DePauw University story)
