Donna Herula is, in order, a classic folk blues winger and guitarist, a UIUC grad, winner of the 2010 Chicago Blues Challenge (with John Johchem), and, in 2011, the Windy City Blues Society representative at the International Blues Challenge. She brings back to Champaign her clear, powerful voice "with the bite of a dagger," as well as her adept slide guitar and National steel guitar work. A born storyteller with deep roots in the Delta Blues tradition, Donna and her guitars tell tales from sardonic to dramatic, from wistful to laugh out loud funny. She'll be playing solo for us as well as with her husband Tony Nardiello, a singer/songwriter/guitarist in his own right. Donna's appearance is sponsored by the Prairie Crossroads Blues Society.
